Born and raised in South Florida, Attorney Zaino attended Arizona State University where he studied political science with a focus on political theory, philosophy, and American politics.  Attorney Zaino earned his bachelor’s degree with the highest honors, summa cum laude, and went on to earn his master’s degree, focusing on political theory and American politics.  Attorney Zaino and his wife, Michelle a native of Stratham, NH, have lived together in New Hampshire for more than 14 years.  They have two boys that are active in sports and the community.

During law school, Attorney Zaino worked for a small firm in Manchester handling several types of legal cases including bankruptcy, personal injury, probate, criminal defense, and divorce.  He also did an externship with Tyco where he focused on arbitration and general contract matters.  After graduation, Attorney Zaino joined the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office and started a very successful career as a prosecutor.

Attorney Zaino later joined the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office as a specialized drug prosecutor.  He was appointed as the sole prosecutor for the DEA’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force.  Attorney Zaino worked with the US Attorney’s Office as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) prosecuting major drug trafficking organizations.  Attorney Zaino is specialized in all areas of narcotics law enforcement and alternative sentencing programs such as Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and New Hope Programs, all of which he has served on the leadership committee for in Rockingham County.

After his appointment as a SAUSA ended, Attorney Zaino again worked for both the Rockingham and Hillsborough County Attorney’s Offices specializing in major crimes.  Attorney Zaino has successfully tried over 30 major felony jury trials ranging from Attempted Murder to Armed Career Criminal, First Degree Assault, Armed Home Invasions, Drug Conspiracies, Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault on children and adults, and Burglaries.  He also prosecuted for three police departments in district court where he litigated hundreds of cases on DUI, Domestic Violence, Simple Assault, and many other motor vehicle violations.  Based on all of his experience, Attorney Zaino has the knowledge and skill to represent and defend his clients in a variety of legal matters.

Throughout his career, Attorney Zaino has dedicated his time to training law enforcement officers and attorneys in matters related to criminal justice and trial strategy. He has been a presenter at multiple CLE seminars for attorneys on matters of cross examination and the art of plea negotiations.  Additionally, he has led dozens of trainings for police officers across the State on subjects, such as handling confidential informants; drafting search warrants; search and seizure law; motor vehicle stops and how to expand the scope of such stops.  Attorney Zaino also assisted the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department in creating and developing a specialized drug unit that was the first of its kind in New Hampshire where Sheriff’s deputies would assist local law enforcement officers with narcotics investigations in their towns.  Since leaving prosecution, Attorney Zaino continues to volunteer his time to train New Hampshire police officers across the State in association with the New Hampshire State Police and the Granite Hammer program.

Attorney Zaino also ran for political office.  He ran for Rockingham County Attorney in 2014.  Though he was ultimately unsuccessful, he was the only candidate to earn the endorsement of the Fosters Daily Democrat.  Attorney Zaino was also the recipient of the Everyday Hero Award by the Granite State Children’s Alliance during their Annual Hands of Hope celebration for 2016.

During his free time, Attorney Zaino enjoys spending time with his wife and family, fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and playing baseball or softball.  Attorney Zaino also is a member at the First Baptist Church of Hampton Falls where he and his family attend regularly and are involved in many aspects of leadership.
